Vision 2025 Community Summit Slated for October 26

A Vision 2025 Community Summit will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Maple Avenue in downtown Covington.

The Summit will feature project updates and tours of the future home of the Alleghany Highlands Industrial Heritage and Technology Discover Center.

The event begins with registration, pastries, and coffee from 8 until 8:30 a.m. followed by presentations from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Tours of the Discovery Center will be conducted from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Vision 2025 sponsors include The Alleghany Foundation, Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation, and Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.

“This event is a way to learn what has been done over the past couple of years through the Vision 2025 working groups, and how to get involved,” said Mary Fant Donnan, executive director of The Alleghany Foundation.

Emmanuel Episcopal Church is located at 138 N. Maple Avenue in Covington.

Attendees are urged to dress comfortably and wear walking shoes if participating in the tour.
