The Alleghany Foundation in Covington, Virginia, is sponsoring summer internships for 2025 for undergraduate or graduate students who desire experience related to philanthropy, the non-profit sector, or research. Internships are for a period of at least six consecutive weeks during the summer and may extend up to ten weeks. The starting date is approximately Monday, June 2, but negotiable. Stipends are based on $15.00/hour.
Natives of the Alleghany Highlands, residents, and/or students attending accredited colleges or universities in the state or region are eligible to apply. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in the fields of economic development, public education, the arts, community revitalization, community engagement, trail development, or public health in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia. Applicants must also demonstrate strong communication skills, personal responsibility, self-motivation and strong computer skills.
The internships provide unique opportunities for students to explore interests with the goal of informing future career pathways.
