Give Local Alleghany Highlands will take place this year on Tuesday, May 23rd. This 24-hour online fundraising event raised over $340,000 for local nonprofits in the past two years. The Alleghany Foundation is hosting Give Local Alleghany Highlands in partnership with the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Give Local Alleghany Highlands is open to all nonprofits with programs that serve residents in the City of Covington and Alleghany County, Virginia, and there is no registration fee. Organizations can register now at GiveLocalAH.org.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the third year of this event,” said Dr. Sue Rollinson, president of The Alleghany Foundation Board of Directors. “It is inspiring to see the community rally around these local nonprofits that make our community stronger.”
Give Local Alleghany Highlands will allow residents to learn about services offered by local nonprofits and support these organizations with donations. Each organization participating in the event will have its own page on the GiveLocalAH.org website. These webpages will include information about what services the organization provides and offer an opportunity to submit an online donation to the organization. All organizations that participate in Give Local Alleghany Highlands will be able to use their web pages to fundraise year-round.
The Alleghany Foundation will provide thousands of dollars in prizes and bonus incentives to foster friendly competition between organizations and encourage residents to donate. Nonprofit organizations interested in participating in Give Local Alleghany Highlands have until April 28th to register, but registering early will provide opportunities to participate in free webinars and access to other resources to help make the event a success. If you would like to learn more about the program, please visit the GiveLocalAH.org website or contact Madge Vosteen at contact@GiveLocalAH.org or (540) 962-0970.
