Summer Internship Program

The Alleghany Foundation is sponsoring a 2019 summer internship program for undergraduate or graduate students who desire experience related to philanthropy, the non-profit sector, research, economic development, public education, public health, communications, or community service in the Alleghany Highlands.

Compensation

The Foundation provides a stipend for internships for a period of six to eight consecutive weeks during the summer.  The starting date for 2019 is approximately June 3.

Eligibility

  • Natives of the Alleghany Highlands, residents, and/or students attending accredited colleges or universities in the state or region are eligible to apply
  • Demonstrate an interest in philanthropy, the non-profit sector, economic development, public health and/or community service
  • Strong communication skills, personal responsibility, self-motivation, and strong computer skills
  • Website technology and information management would be preferred.

The internships provide unique opportunities for students to explore interests with the goal of informing future career pathways.
